Like Volkswagen, Mercedes have been marketing their own topline campers for quite a few years now. It’s probably not quite what the Recreationalist’s demographic want, the Marco Polo vans are essentially high-end weekenders. That said they are certainly within and in fact below the some of the new NZ van fit outs price wise, with the V250 retailing at about $110,000 nzd… not counting getting it to NZ. They are beautifully appointed with some really clever innovations.

The 2020 Mercedes Marco Polo has been revamped and modernised to include Mercedes Benz Automated Control, an app-controlled smart home system that control everything from the lighting, the temperature, to the pop top roof. You never have to leave your Mercedes embroidered deck chair again.

“Connectivity is an important component of our product strategy which we have been intensively pursuing over the course of the past two years in the motorhome segment. 2020 will now see MBAC added as a standard component to our own Marco Polo camper vans. With this, we can offer camping fans a completely new level of comfort and live up to our aspiration of being the innovative leader in the segment”, explains Klaus Maier, Head of Marketing and Sales at Mercedes-Benz Vans.

The Marco Polo V220d retails for £53,180 and the V250d for £55,055 in the UK.

There is in fact an imported UK bought AMG Marco Polo available second-hand in Tauranga, it’s a 2019 V250 and the owners want $122,000 [which we all know means $120,000] Here’s the listing
