COVID 19 has hit our Kiwi shores and your response is ‘we’re getting away from everyone. Pack the wagon, go the the supermarket [good luck with that] and we are out of here!’
One could argue there’s no better time, our borders are closed, campgrounds will be uncrowded. But the NZMCA are wisely saying ‘Keep Calm, stay safe- and stay at home!’ You can read their full press release HERE

On Wednesday 25 May 11.59 pm we move to level 4. Level 4 is shut down for the next 4 weeks. This means STAY AT HOME. It is a fast evolving situation, so please check news outlets. Department of Conservation campsites are now closed.

To clarify the terminology;

If you travelled to New Zealand from any country you should self-isolate for 14 days from your date of departure. If you arrived more than 14 days ago, you do not need to self-isolate.

If you have been in close contact with someone confirmed with COVID-19, you should self-isolate for 14 days from the date of contact.

reference; Ministry of Health

If you fall into one of those categories you are not allowed to use DOC facilites. DOC’s official response is HERE

Top 10 Holiday Parks stance differs. Their response to Covid 19 is HERE.

In a nutshell, Top 10 are allowing people to Self Isolate as long as they are Self-Contained and do not use communal facilities.

Stay home, be safe fellas.
