New Zealand has a wonderful long history of producing extremely cool caravans. And the Romotow is taking things to a whole new level. Don’t bother going to their website, there’s nothing much there on the holder page. The Facebook page is a bit better. But here’s what we know; the concept was born out of the Christchurch earthquakes, to create temporary, mobile accommodation.
Romotow have taken the concept and turned it into a super high spec’d composite luxury Caravan. They have kept the weight down by using carbon fibre and vacuum moulding. The same tech that goes into America’s Cup boats.
Currently the Romotows are available, but are made as one offs starting at a whooping $500,000 nzd. The company is hoping to secure an American manufacturer, clearly eyeing that market as where they want to be.
