Here at Recreational Society we have an unapologetic love of Sunraders and Chinooks. Both campers were built on Toyota Hi Lux utes and sadly both companies are no longer trading. But they have a cult following around the world, were they ahead of their time? Who knows. But for anyone serious about getting out and staying out they sure tick a lot of boxes.
Last month this one popped up on our radar. To be fair the 1978 4×4 always been a show car, both its owners keeping it in absolute mint condition and upgrading it. Bidding started at $20,000 USD and it sold for a whooping $49,000 USD… there goes the dream of buying one and shipping it back in NZ! This is probably the best example of a Chinook existing.
